Weed Barrier Does Not Mean Zero Maintenance

Landscape fabric can reduce weed growth by blocking sunlight, but weeds may still grow from soil, mulch, or debris that collects on top of the fabric.

Prepare the Ground First

Remove existing weeds, roots, stones, and sharp debris before installation. A clean and level surface helps the fabric lay flatter and last longer.

Overlap the Edges

When using multiple strips, overlap the edges to reduce gaps where weeds can grow through.

Use Enough Staples or Weight

The set includes 10 U-shaped pegs, but larger areas or windy locations may require additional staples, soil, stones, mulch, or edging to keep the fabric secure.

Cut Planting Holes Carefully

Cut only the opening needed for each plant. Oversized holes can leave exposed soil where weeds may return.

Covering Helps Performance
